An author got a great price from a printer for printing and shipping, and decided to use them instead of us, but still wanted to have the books sent to us for storage and fulfillment.
When the container arrived at our warehouse, we opened it and immediately had to close it again. The terrible smell was overwhelming, and we needed masks to enter it.
Apparently, in a bid to save money, the low-cost printer decided to pack the books on old, wet, wooden pallets that weren't properly treated to resist mold and mildew.
Sadly, all 10,000 books needed to be destroyed, and the printer refused to refund the author - it was one of the saddest cases we've ever seen.
